Though this session was nearly a year ago, it still remains one of my most favorite sessions of recent times.  This mama was past her due date at this session, and was still more than willing to traipse all over the park and nurse her 3 (yes! 3!) children.   These photos remind me that women are warriors, even when doing what seems to be so mundane and normal to us.  I hope you love these images as much as I do!  And I hope that you take the time to capture your mundane and normal, even if it's with a cell phone.  Our memories are so precious and should be kept forever.

Earlier in the summer, I put out a model call for a documentary maternity session; specifically looking for a couple expecting their first child.   Erica was one of the respondents, and after meeting with her and her husband, I knew they were perfect.  On the day of their session, I hung back while they organized all of their sweet baby's clothes and gadgets.  It was so fun to watch them interact and bond over this special moment, knowing in just a few weeks, they would be 3!  Enjoy a few images from their session; and I look forward to sharing some video clips in the future too!

Keep your eyes out for their newborn session, which will come to the blog soon!

I met Lauren and her sweet family at the beach for a maternity/nursing session.  Lauren responded to a model call looking for mothers who were nursing through their pregnancies.  At the time, she was pregnant with her 4th baby, and nursing her 3rd baby.  Baby girl was not up to nursing for our session, but the images we captured were lovely all the same.

Additionally, Lauren is part of a husband and wife photography team (http://www.memoriesbymccarthy.com ) and it's always such an honor to work with fellow photographers.

We started off on the beach, and ended in the parking lot, where we captured some of the most beautiful images of the entire session! I'm still chuckling over that.  It was very hard to pick a few favorites to share with you!  Enjoy!
